This island is often called "Lonely Island" or "Solitude Island", which shows how isolated and untouched by humankind it is. It's completely barren throughout the winter and vegetation dots the island throughout summer. It's unusually flat and low-lying in comparison to other Arctic islands, and is covered in pack ice in the winter due to how far north it is. Even in summer, ice floes can be spotted along the island.
