A tranquil village in the Normandy region of France just north of Le Havre, Etretat is famous for its naturally carved chalk cliffs. The arched rock formations of l'Aiguille and Port d'Aval are famous throughout the region and have been immortalized by Claude Monet's numerous works painted from 1883-1886. Be sure to try a sip of Pernod, a favorite regional liquor, or Calvados, the fiery apple brandy unique to this region.
