The Isle of May is managed by Scottish Natural Heritage as a nature reserve and an important seabird breeding ground. In addition to thousands of Puffins, species as diverse as Kittiwakes, Shags, Eiders, and Guillemots, along with several kinds of Gulls and Terns may be found nesting here.
