Geographic Harbor is one of Alaska's premiere spots for viewing grizzly bears, which roam and hunt the area in great numbers. Part of southern Alaska's wildlife-rich "Katmai Coast," the harbor is named for its role in the exploration of Amalik Bay by the National Geographic Society in 1919.
