For many years, the town of Brindisi, situated on the southern Adriatic coast, has been a gateway for travelers in southern Italy, Greece and the Eastern Mediterranean. Here visitors can see traces of Roman history, as well as restored medieval churches and the Duomo, a 12th century cathedral.
