Cruises to the island of Cyprus call at Limassol on its south coast. From here, sun-worshippers can head to the beaches, while history and archaeology buffs can visit the Greco-Roman amphitheater -- built in the second century B.C. and still used today -- or the House of Dionysos, which displays beautiful mosaics unearthed during the excavation of a Roman villa. Or, join an excursion that drives through citrus groves and vineyards to quaint harbor towns or to the medieval village of Lofou, laced by narrow, cobbled streets.
Cyprus is featured on Eastern Mediterranean cruises. The Mediterranean cruise season generally lasts from late April to October, although a few ships cruise the region year-round. Cyprus also can be included on Greek Isles cruises, which take place from March through November.
