Though Vuaqava Island has been uninhabited since the 19th century, fishermen still frequent the island from neighboring Kabara Island and other nearby locations. The island is becoming a more popular spot for tourists for many reasons. Vuaqava Island features a beautiful reef, particularly along the south coast, where divers can admire a variety of marine life. Fiji's largest lake can be found on Vuaqava Island as well.
