Discover Salalah by driving into East Salalah and the surrounding area to see the contrast between the lush vegetation of the garden city and the barren, bleak landscape of the desert. After leaving the port, the tour begins with a visit to the Taqa. Camels may be seen roaming the roadside as you drive toward the fishing village of Taqa, an old town with an interesting fort and typical houses belonging to the local fishermen. Note the elegant and heat-resistant white stones used to build Taqah’s houses.
