The oldest permanent settlement in Iowa, Dubuque grew into a thriving river town and became the state's largest city. Excursions visit St. Luke's Methodist Church, which has more than 100 Tiffany glass windows; the historic Mathias Ham House, an 1856 Italianate villa with Victorian furnishings; and Eagle Point Park, which offers spectacular views of the Mississippi River and three states.
