Royal Caribbean's Kids Program

Fun isn't just for adults at Royal Caribbean. Royal Caribbean offers exciting programs for guests of all ages, including the new Crown & Anchor Society Youth Program. With membership, children 17 and under can earn credit for cruising with Royal Caribbean and receive special onboard benefits just for them!

Teens can discover a whole new world of cruising just for them onboard Royal Caribbean ships. From dancing until 2 a.m. in the teen-only dance club to just hanging out with friends in the teen-only lounge, there's plenty of options to make new friends, explore independently and have a blast.

As for the younger set, Royal Caribbean has activities for wee ones starting at just 6 months old! The Fisher-Price Royal Babies and Royal Tots Programs for parents and children 6-36 months old was developed by Fisher-Price exclusively for Royal Caribbean International. Drop by, stay and play!

Kids ages 3-11 will especially love the complimentary Adventure Ocean® Youth Program, specially designed to blend educational activities with just plain fun. Every member of the staff holds a college degree in education or other related field, or has qualified experience in working with children, so you can feel confident that your kids will have the time of their lives while learning a little in the process.

Royal Babies (Ages 6-18 months)

To make your time onboard even more enjoyable, join in the fun of Royal Babies and Royal Tots, interactive classes developed by early childhood experts at Fisher-Price. Simply head over to Guest Relations to pick up a copy of the daily Compass that matches your child's age. While you're there, check out Adventure Ocean for older kids-with great facilities for art, science, and games. Royal Caribbean will be here for your family as your children grow! A parent or caregiver MUST accompany children during all playgroup sessions.

Stay on track by continuing your morning exercise regimen, even while you're out at sea. With the Stroller Mates Workout, you and your baby can enjoy a morning session on the jogging track, dedicated to guests with infants in strollers.

Treat your baby to the inspiration and joy of music, as musical instruments are introduced and rhythm, movement and creativity are explored.

Baby Gymnastics
Celebrate physical development and exciting milestones, encouraging your baby to get active with the help of Fisher-Price Go-Baby-Go! toys, activities and games.

Come To My House
Reinforce early learning of simple concepts - like the alphabet, numbers, shapes, and colors - with hands-on exploration of familiar things form everyday life, things you'll find in your own home, brought down to baby's size.

Cookin' Up Fun
Get set for a deliciously good time in the kitchen! You and your baby will enjoy playing and learning with food-related toys and activities - discovering early role play as well as early academics.

I Love Animals
This playgroup session introduces amazing discoveries about animals. Little ones will enjoy meeting a menagerie of adorable animal friends that encourage movement and celebration.

Royal Tots (Ages 18-36 months)

Join your child in the fun of Royal Tots, interactive playgroup sessions developed by early childhood experts at Fisher-Price. Each 45-minute session, held on one of the onboard lounges, offers activities that expose children to new experiences and teach you how to make playtime learning time as well. Plus, your little one will be all smiles and giggles as they make new discoveries, sing, sway and play with great toys they're sure to love. A parent or caregiver MUST accompany children during all playgroup sessions.

Crayola Beginnings Workshop
Create early childhood memories at four new daytime Crayola Beginnings Workshops. During each 45-minute session, an Adventure Ocean counselor reads a story to parents and children, and uses Crayola Beginnings products to teach toddlers how to create their first works of art.

Fun On The Farm
Join Little People® friends to explore connections between farm animals, the sounds they make and the ways they move.

Terrific Trips
Here you are, on a family vacation - what better time to share ideas with your child about places to see, things to do, and different trips to take, both near and far from home.

Out & About In The Neighborhood
Discover people and places in your neighborhood, learning about familiar places, community helpers and transportation while role-playing with Little People® friends.

Pirates and Princesses
Calling all pirates and princesses! Go on imaginative journeys to ancient times and faraway lands, enjoying pretend play with castles, pirates, stories and activities.

Learning Fundamentals
Kids love to sing, dance, and learn new things! Get them moving and singing as they learn A-B-C's, 1-2-3's, phonics, shapes, colors and more, with the help of learning toys, music, games, and lots of other fun activities.

PLEASE NOTE: All Royal Babies and Royal Tots activities are hosted by trained Youth Staff. Each session lasts approximately 45 minutes; activities are subject to change. A parent or caregiver MUST accompany children during activity sessions.

Fisher-Price Toy Lending Program
Draw from an onboard treasure chest of Fisher-Price toys during your stay with Royal Caribbean. The Fisher-Price Toy Lending Program consists of a collection of developmental toys, specifically created for infants and toddlers ages 6-36 months. Borrow and exchange toys for a new activity every day, and help your little one's growing mind learn through play.

Aquanauts (Ages 3-5)

Your Aquanauts' time onboard will not only be fun, it will be educational too! They'll get to learn about local customs, do cool science experiments and make great new friends. To participate, children must be fully potty-trained and 3 years of age as of the first day of the cruise. (No pull-ups or diapers, please.) You can rest assured your little ones are in good hands - every member of the Adventure Ocean staff holds a college degree in education, recreation or a related field and has experience working with children ages 3-17.

Available of Allure of the Seas and starting in 2011 on Oasis of the Seas, Freedom of the Seas, and Liberty of the Seas your kids will enjoy fun activities such as a story time, dance parties and more with characters from the DreamWorks Animation movies. Just imagine the laughs when they meet Alex, Shrek, Fiona and more.

At Sea: 9 a.m. to noon, 2 p.m. to 5 p.m., and 7 p.m. to 10 p.m.

Using art as an avenue for exploration, the lesson plans provide a unique onboard experience for children, incorporating information about specific geographic locations with hands-on art. Crayola Art projects make creativity a part of every child's experience wherever they may travel.

Sail Into Storytime
These theme-related storytime sessions bring each story to life with activities, discussions on each story and hands-on activities for the children to participate in following each reading.

Adventure Theater by Camp Broadway
Blending educational activities with on-your-feet fun, Adventure Theater participants get a first taste of the actor's craft, in which entire worlds are created with just their bodies, voices and imagination. Using structured theater games, vocal and physical exercises, and creativity-freeing activities, instructors guide groups through an exploration of the theater arts.

Royalnauts can enjoy Adventure Beach activities on itineraries that call on CocoCay and Labadee. Kids can join the Adventure Ocean staff and participate in Sand Castle Building, Drip Drip Drop, Adventure Family Water Balloon Toss, Beach Relays, Parachute Games and a search for Labadectal and Cocodactal eggs. Your little ones can also participate in a fun-filled track experience in kid-sized battery operated Fisher-Price vehicles on CocoCay. These Cadillac Escalades and Barbie Jammin' Jeeps travel approximately 2-4 mph and will accommodate children up to 130 pounds.

Explorers (Ages 6-8)

The Explorers program is specially designed to blend educational activities with just plain fun. Every cruise is different. But one thing never changes: your child will get to learn about local customs, do cool science experiments, and make great new friends. You can feel confident leaving your children because every member of the Adventure Ocean® staff holds a college degree in education, recreation or related field and has experience working with children ages 3 - 17.

The best thing about the Teen program is that it's not structured. The 12- to 14-year-old guests can come join activities and games when they want to, or just chill with friends in the teen-only lounge. And parents don't have to worry about you hanging out there, because every member of the teen staff holds a college degree in education, recreation or a related field and has experience working with youth ages 3-17.

Hours
Activities are scheduled throughout the day and early evening. The Teen Center is open from 10:30 p.m.- 2:00 a.m. each evening. Young teens are welcome to come and hang out and join in activities, make new friends, and dance or just listen to music.

Ages 15 - 17

The teen program isn't some structured set of classes or rules. Royal Caribbean knows you're almost an adult, and it's your vacation too. So Royal Caribbean gives you the freedom you deserve. You can join events all day, or come and go as you want. And there are two great places where you can get away from it all. The Living Room is a laid-back place you can just hang with your new friends. And Fuel is the place where the party is. Open 'til 2 a.m., you can dance, listen to music, or just hang out there.

Dining

For the youngest guests, Royal Caribbean offers a kid's menu featuring all their favorites: pizza, hamburgers, hot dogs, peanut butter, and mac and cheese. Kids have their own beverage programs too. The Unlimited Soda Package lets them purchase a fountain soda package so they can enjoy as many fountain sodas as they want.

On selected nights, the youth staff hosts dinners in casual restaurants. It's a great opportunity for kids to eat with other kids and for parents to enjoy a meal alone.

Babysitting

Babysitting is offered both in a group setting, and individually in your stateroom. In stateroom babysitting must be booked through the Guest Relations Desk (Purser's Desk) at least 24 hours in advance.

It cannot be booked prior to the cruise vacation and there is no guarantee that sitters will be available. The service is offered when personnel is available.

Children MUST be at least 1 year old.

Approximate Rate: $19 per hour for up to three children within the same family.

Times and prices are subject to change without notice. Payment will be made with your onboard SeaPass card.

Throughout your family vacation, Royal Caribbean asks that your children respect the other guests onboard by not playing unsupervised on deck, in the lounges or on the dance floor, especially in the evening.

Please note: Due to Public health regulations, children in diapers, swim diapers, pull-ups, or who are not COMPLETELY toilet trained are not allowed in the pools, whirlpools, or H2O zone.

On the Freedom of the Seas and Liberty of the Seas children in diapers, or who are not toilet trained may use the Baby Splash Zone" specially designated for them.

Nursery

Undoubtedly one of the most anticipated innovations from Royal Caribbean is the addition of the Babies and Tots Nursery. This colorful new space will serve as a fully-staffed nursery where children can be left in the care of the trained professionals, as well as host to various playgroups created by Fisher-Price® and Crayola® for babies and tots aboard Royal Caribbean’s cruises.

The nursery will offer parents a drop-off options in the daytime and evening, while always maintaining an optimum staff-to-child ratio. Free-time play will also be offered daily, providing a chance for parents and their young ones to bond while playing with a variety of developmental toys from Fisher-Price in specially-designed programs available exclusively for guests of Royal Caribbean.

In addition, the Crayola Beginnings line of art tools will be featured in unique developmentally-focused art activities so parents and their children can enjoy some memorable creative moments together.

This experience is exclusive the Oasis of the Seas.

There are 2 age groups:

  • Babies (6-17 months) up to and including 1 day less than 18 months.
  • Tots (18-36 months).

Cost
The charge is $8 per hour, per child. This can be charged in hour increments (minimum session charge is $8 for 1 hour even if child is picked up early).
