We strongly recommend the purchase of a travel protection program. For your
convenience, P&O Cruises offers P&O Travel CareSM and P&O Travel
Care GoldSM which provides what is perhaps the most attractive combination
of protection and flexibility available in cruising today.
P&O Travel Care includes Trip Cancellation and Interruption Protection,
which provides up to full reimbursement for non-refundable cancellation fees
if you must cancel or curtail your trip due to covered medical conditions or
other specified causes affecting you, your immediate family members, or your
traveling companions.
P&O Travel Care and P&O Travel Care Gold also offer unique flexibility
that many other programs lack. If you have to cancel your cruise for a non-insured
reason - any reason at all -you'll receive from P&O a future cruise credit
equal to 75% (90% with P&O Travel Care Gold) of the normally non-refundable
cancellation fees. The P&O Travel Care plans provide coverage for most
medical expenses while away from home including emergency evacuation should
illness or injury occur during your trip.
For just $50 more than P&O Travel Care, the P&O Travel Care Gold program
doubles your medical, lost baggage and emergency medical coverage limits.
Special note: P&O Travel Care and P&O Travel Care Gold must be purchased
before or at time of final payment.
Trip Cancellation/Interruption Protection Reimbursement for
any nonrefundable cancellation fees imposed by P&O if you must cancel or
curtail your trip due to covered medical conditions or other specified causes
affecting you, your immediate family members, or your traveling companion.
Trip Delay Protection Up to $500 reimbursement to cover accommodations,
meals and transportation to the ship should you miss your departure due to
covered airline delays.
Baggage Protection Up to $1,500 to replace baggage and personal
property that is lost, stolen, or damaged. If luggage is delayed by the airline
for more than 24 hours, you'll be reimbursed up to $500 for covered personal
expenses.
Medical Coverage Up to $10,000 for covered medical
expenses –among the highest limits available- if you become sick or injured
during your trip. Medicare and many private insurance policies generally do
not cover you outside of the United States . And many HMO's do not cover you
outside their provider area.
Emergency Evacuation Up to $25,000-among the best you
can find-for emergency air or ground transportation due to a serious illness
or injury. This coverage is also not generally provided by private policies,
HMOs, or Medicare.
Emergency Assistance World-wide assistance with a 24-hour
hotline when you need help with lost documents, cash transfers, and other travel-related
problems.
Voluntary Cancellations If you have to cancel your cruise
for any reason not covered by the insurance element of P&O Travel Care,
you'll be reimbursed with a credit applicable toward future travel with P&O,
equal to 75% of the nonrefundable cancellation charges.
Hotel Additions Coverage for Cruise Plus hotel add-ons
and children under the age of 18 years traveling in third/fourth berths is
also included at no cost if P&O Travel Care/P&O Travel Care Gold is
purchased by the first two passengers in the stateroom.
P&O Travel Care Gold (Added Coverage) For just
$50 more you can increase your lost baggage coverage from $1,500 to $3,000,
your medical coverage from $10,000 to $20,000, and your emergency evacuation
coverage from $25,000 to $50,000. You will also increase the “voluntary cancellation” coverage
so you will be reimbursed with a 90% credit rather than 75%.
